Deep Creek Park Now Open.The Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Department opened Deep Creek Park at 437 S. George Washington Hwy. today.
The outdoor facility features four multi-purpose fields, including two lighted, and four all-lighted tournament quality Bronco/Pony league baseball fields with grass infields. All athletic fields will be closed to the public until late spring to allow the grass to reach full growth.
The park also includes a dog park, an all-access play area, three picnic shelters and a perimeter walking/hiking trail. The Project consists of a 60 acre park including 4 baseball fields, 4 multipurpose fields, a restroom facility, playground, picnic area, walking trails and related facilities, and a dog park. The current dog park location is temporary, the final version of the park will also contain a dog park but in a different location. Some playing fields include lights and irrigation systems. Significant earthmoving and storm drainage facilities are required. The main entry driveway is asphalt paved, and large parking areas contain both asphalt and gravel paving.
